How the directory works

Where listings come from, how they are ordered, how advertising is labeled, and what this site is not.

What we are building

wc.lawyer is a directory of lawyers who handle workers' compensation, organized state by state, with a plain guide on each state page to how a claim works there. We are building it one state at a time, starting with Florida, then New Jersey, then Georgia.

Where listings come from

Listings are taken from public bar records: a lawyer's name, firm and city. In Florida the source is the Florida Bar's public records, including its public list of lawyers board certified in workers' compensation. We do not scrape private contact details, and we do not publish reviews, ratings or past results.

How listings are ordered

By location: state, then city. We do not rank lawyers, and we never add ranking or skill labels of our own. Where a state lists a lawyer as certified, we quote the state's own title exactly, for that lawyer only.

How the guides are written

Each guide answers one question in plain English. Every deadline, rate or step names the statute or agency it comes from, with the date we read it. Examples with numbers are labeled hypothetical. The guides explain how the system works; they do not tell any reader what to do in their own case.

For lawyers

A basic listing is free for every lawyer we list from public records. If you see an error in your listing, the source record is the place to correct it, and we update from it.

We plan to offer featured placement on state and city pages for a flat monthly fee. A featured spot is an advertisement and is labeled “This is an advertisement”. It is never priced as a share of a fee or per case, and the model will be reviewed against the launch state's bar rules before anything is sold.
